I would like to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to you to join a new User Group created specifically for Municipal Government Professionals. While many other groups and associations already exist, we believe that we will be unique because of the goals we have established.
Our Goals are as follows
- Network with other Municipalities and their employees. The benefits of this that we would like to promote is not only meeting fellow professionals and sharing data, but sharing knowledge and expertise. By doing this we would all benefit, and in turn, our Tax Payers would too!
- Promote Standards. The benefits are obvious, but we what to promote Standards in a broader sense, not just layers and data types, but procedures, styles, blocks and where to find and access these resources.
- Share Time Saving Techniques and Expertise. As they always say "Learn from the Mistakes of Others". You can also learn from Their Successes! We will promote open, active discussions where successes and failures are examined and explained in detail, for everyone's benefit. If one person has expertise, we will attempt to past that knowledge on, to develop our own "Help Network".
- Educate our Users. While this group is NOT INTENDED TO REPLACE TRAINING THROUGH YOUR RESELLER, we will be providing specific, in-depth training on routines that will save you time, money & headaches. The subject of the sessions will be in direct response to the needs designated by the group members themselves.
- Keep the users up-to-date on the latest software versions and hardware capabilities. Access to patches and service packs, white papers and web-casts will all be provided in a convenient location, as well as how to get every last bit of "horse power" out of your existing system.
- Software Platforms. While this is a registered AUGI (Autodesk User Group International), we welcome ALL geo-spatial (mapping) and design professionals to join, learn and share in the experience. There are very few software exclusive municipalities, and our goal is to educate and share best practices with all of them. All software packages now have the ability to share various data types, and it is time the users take full advantage of this capability.
- Our last goal is to pursue and accomplish all these goals in an environment that is totally free of Resellers and Vendors promoting their agendas! This will be a "Sales Pitch Free" zone. This group's course will be determined by the users and their needs - ONLY
